The arrogance of Hawaii politicians who cleared the way for the Hawaii Superferry without regard to the legal requirement of an EIS are cut from the same cloth that drove the illegal takeover of Hawaii in 1893. Some things never change. Hawaii Superferry executives, for their part, ignored some very large and seemingly obvious risks. The result – dismal financial performance despite their best efforts to run a first class alternative to inter-island travel.
Those who have championed this effort seem to be getting what they deserve, likely failure. Blaming environmental activists is simply wrong.
